Hi Hector!

Widening Your Window:

Cause and Effect Video to explain how unconscious biases work in our brain:

Here’s the link to the worksheet with the bucket of questions.

Please feel free to reach out via Voxer or email if you have any questions.

Great work Hector! You’re making big shifts and I’m so excited for you! Keep up with the somatic release, the celebration practice to continue to bring your awareness to those glimmers.

Goals Identified:

  • Finish up writing the letter to Shalome letting everything out that has gone unsaid – only do this if you feel you still have some things to release
  • Continue to experiment with other aspects of the app including the Pranayama Breathwork, especially working through the fear and rebuilding self-trust
  • I have added a new project in Asana for us to share, and have given you some tasks (without due dates) for you to work on for our business strategy sessions. There are templates and additional guidance attached to some of the tasks. I would encourage you to go through and archive any projects that aren’t relevant on your Asana account to help clean things up and allow us to start streamlining project management and team communication. Feel free to tag me in Asana or if you choose to use Voxer you can reach out to me here.

Self-Study Activities:

  • Watch this video to identify your survival emotions: https://youtu.be/2NLjurTPLhI
  • Once you have this survival emotion identified, then go to the guided meditation library and search for the “Surrender” meditation. It’s the first way that we’ll start rebuilding the self-trust.

Our next session will be 60-minutes on April 14th 2023 at 9 am your local time.

If you have any questions, please feel free to use the contact form above to send me a direct message or email avery@becomingavery.com

Today we talked briefly about widening your window (and I have included a video below that explains the concept more clearly). I would encourage you to play around with the Somatic Release exercises in the app, and continue to work on finding more clarity of what you want to work towards in all areas of your life. We also chatted about some ways to work with the prioritization system: instead of focusing on just one thing at a time, book an hour in the Accountability Times and pre-plan what you’re going to accomplish in that time block. You will be able to book the time in your calendar like an appointment, and then 5 minutes before your session you’ll receive an email from me asking what you’re going to be focusing on. Please reply to that email with your list – otherwise I’m going to follow up with you to see if you stuck to your plan or not. At the end of your session you’ll receive another email with some reflection prompts to help get the most out of your next session. Goals Identified:
  • Finish up writing the letter to Shalome letting everything out that has gone unsaid. Then start to look for themes in what you’re writing, things that you can do something about, and things that you need from her.
  • Commit to the celebration practice, either spending a few moments reflecting in your mind, or writing/audio journaling them once a day, celebrating something about you, and then celebrating something about Shalome every day.
  • If you do any of the Pranayama Breathwork activities in the app (can be found in the yoga section) I would encourage you to breathe in while visualizing your heart space as that is where your fear primarily rests for now.
Self-Study Activities:
  • Watch this video that describes the concept of widening your window
If you want help between now and our next session to get some guidance on the conversation you want to have with Shalome, please feel free to email me. Next week we will be meeting for one hour as we are starting our combined business strategy and personal support. Just as with our current sessions, you have unlimited email support between sessions, and can cancel or switch your level of support with 2 business days’ notice. Our next session will be 60-minutes on March 31, 2023 at 9:00 am your local time and we will start adding in the business focus as well. If you have any questions, please feel free to use the contact form above to send me a direct message or email avery@becomingavery.com

Great work again with your processing and insights between sessions. Feel free to keep sending the emails to get suggestions between sessions.

In this session we discussed the true meaning of the word priority, the importance of setting reasonable expectations and how to set up boundaries to protect time for your most important tasks. We discussed the three tier planning system and reviewed different options to use your own planning tools in this way. Part of taking control of your time will include assertive communication, Which we talked about in the last session, so if you haven’t already please go back to the notes from Session #2 and complete the Communication Styles worksheet.

Goals Identified:

  • Write a letter to Shalome that you will never send to her and never let her read. This is the space to let everything out of that box of anger, frustration and disappointment and allow this part of you to speak freely without a filter. Use whichever method works best for you (audio, written, or typed) and just get everything out.
  • Try to integrate the three tier planning system into your work-flow. If you’d like a review or to get more information on how to use it and how to structure daily planning sessions and weekly planning sessions, please go to the Recover Program and look at Habit Two.

Self-Study Activities:

Our next session will be on March 27, 2023 at 9:30 am your local time.

If you have any questions, please feel free to use the contact form above to send me a direct message or email avery@becomingavery.com

A few key things were identified for you today:

  • Ego in itself isn’t inherently good or bad, positive or negative – like many things it can either sabotage or serve. We can either be aware of our capabilities, strengths, struggles and self-destructive behaviors – or we can be ignorant of them and plow forward. When you think about legacy, focus on how you want to make other people feel.
  • Personal Responsibility was defined by you as the ability to be self-reflective, to see the other person’s perspective (even if you don’t agree with it), and to not blame circumstances but to see how to work within them. It’s about understanding when you’re right and need to release the reactions of others – or when you need to consider the reactions of others and re-evaluate your beliefs.

Self-Study Activities:

  • Complete the Communication Styles Assessment Booklet here
  • It’s time to make peace with your ego – the part of you that you’ve buried for so long. Start by journaling/audio brain dumping on instances (even if there are only a few) of where your ego/awareness of self served you
  • When it comes to intimacy, what physical, sexual, and emotional intimacy needs do you need to fulfill? Keep this focused on you – not what you need from someone else.

Next week we will be talking about prioritization, action planning, and implementing your protected focus times.

Our next session will be on March 3rd at 9:30 am your local time. If you have any questions between now and then, please use the form above. It will send me a direct, private message and I will get back to you as soon as I can.

Today we discussed creating your Identity Goals and check-in words. From your Baseline Assessment, you’ve identified that you wanted to focus on your physical health, your interactions with friends, and your relationship with your wife.

You identified the following words to help remind you of who you need to be in order to achieve your goals for your physical health:

  1. Enjoyment/playfulness
  2. Pushing yourself
  3. Rhythm

We’re going to use these to help foster the motivation and willpower you’ll need when building your disciplined habits.

Self-Study Activities:

  • Please create your identity goal reminders for your other two focus areas and feel free to send them on via the portal form above if you’d like my feedback.
  • View this video and write your clarity statement.

Next week we will be talking about prioritization, action planning, and implementing your protected focus times.

Our next session will be on February 17th at 9:30 am your local time. If you have any questions between now and then, please use the form above. It will send me a direct, private message and I will get back to you as soon as I can.

Every other week you will have a 30-minute session with Avery where you’ll work through the Recover, Optimize, and Elevate programs.

Within 24 hours of your session, you will receive an email letting you know that your portal has been updated. Here, in the tabs above you will see notes from your call, goals you’ve set with Avery, and links to activities she’d like you to do before you meet again.

If you have any questions, please submit them in the message box above as they will go to a priority inbox that Avery answers several times throughout the day (so you will get the fastest response this way). This inbox is also private and only Avery can access it.
