Hi Sedrica!

Can’t wait to hear how the Black woman magic morning pep-talk check ins go for you! Love the idea!

Goals:

  • To continue with the morning check-in, adding in the questions: What is one way I’m going to be social today? What new thing can I try or keep working on today? What is one step I can take to live a colourful life today?
  • Add your three non-negotiables to your white board and check them off as you do them throughout the day:
    • 1. Get fresh air in the morning
    • 2. Do some kind of gentle movement each day (walk, or yoga)
    • 3. Give yourself a check mark for each meal and snack you eat each day
  • At the end of every day, ask yourself “What do I want to celebrate about me today?” i.e. I got out of bed and had my tea outside even when it was really hard to get out of bed.

Self-Study Activities:

  • Try some of the yoga classes and/or qigong classes in the app
  • Also try some of the videos from the Somatic Release library

  • Today we started your baseline assessment and identified your two focus areas will be physical health and personal development.

 

Self-Study Activities:

  • Please listen to the audio lessons from the first Habit of the Recover program and complete the worksheets included in the portal.
  • Brainstorm the identity of who you want to become from the lens of your physical health. What does future Sedrica think? How does she act? What does she say? How does she respond to challenges related to her physical health and ability?
  • Come up with at least one activity that you can do on your own that’s new or you haven’t done in a while that you can be playful with. Painting is great for you, but it’s safe, so I encourage you to try to think of something else or something new to also do besides painting.

Every week you will have a 60-minute session with Avery where you’ll work through the Recover, Optimize, and Elevate programs.
